Blue Nile and me

On the banks
of the blue Nile
                     had a chance
                     to live for a while
Seeing me there
she had a smile
                    I too replied her
                    in my style
Sitting on the banks
I had a dream
I too am a part of
                    her blue stream
Singing
of that lovely Breeze
I more felt warm
and at ease
                   Oh those charming
                   yatchs and fishes
It all became
as was in the wishes
                   Now I think
                   after so long
I left it there
is utterly wrong
                   can't express how much
                   I love you 'Nile'
You are in my heart
leaving all the agile
                  May I wish
                  to fly to the scene
For your perenial
lively mean
For your perenial lively mean
Poet 'Ravi'

(This poem relates to my stay in Khartoum, Sudan in the year 1984, but written today after 38 years)
